This website is our online magazine about everything Australian for travelers, fans, and locals who speak or understand German.

Our Mission

There is a saying that we can only love what we know – and we, with "Australia Traveltips Magazine" (or "Australien Reisetipps Magazin" in German), endeavour to spread knowledge about Australia and the Australian Way of Life to everyone who can read and understand German.

This includes creating a broader interest in Australia, its geography, culture and customs – proving that Australia is a safe place to travel to, to live in and to invest in.

Why another magazine about Australia?

We have discovered within the course of our work in the tourism industry, that Germans know much less about Australia than they think. Very often, they rely on hearsay and on outdated information.

"Australia Traveltips Magazine" is the missing link that fills in the gap between print magazine reportages, hobby blogs and official tourism info. As such this is an innovative, new concept, especially as it will be carried out by trained journalists who live in Australia permanently.

"Australia Traveltips Magazine" explains what life in and travelling around Australia really is like. In addition, readers can ask questions to the editors or suggest topics for future articles. This is usually not possible in travel blogs or German based magazines.

Who we are

We are the only Australian online magazine in German that is Australian owned. Our headquarters are in Cairns, QLD. Our editors have extensive experience in the publishing industry and have undergone apprenticeships in Germany.

Our target market

The German speaking market contributes a substantial share to the Australian tourism industry. After the UK, Germany is Australia’s biggest market in Europe, with 160,380 German arrivals (which is more than eg Canada or Indonesia), 44,600 Swiss arrivals and 16,400 Austrian arrivals in 2010 alone. This is a total of more than 221,000 German speaking visitors per year.

A huge share of these people will turn to the internet to find out about Australia, where to go and what to do. However, the potential readership of our website is much higher, as the above numbers do not include those who are still in the decision making process.

Our website consists of the following sections:

In addition, our readers get updates on the weather in their favourite holiday destinations, plus currency exchange rates and petrol prices around Australia.
